The jam is made from apples and elderberries. Elderberries are berries that grow on bushes and they are very sour. Making this is very hard, so you'll probably only find it in health food shops, not in a supermarket. First you have to cut off the branches on which these berries hang and after you think you've got enough berries you go home. With a fork you scrape off the berries from the branches and put them in a bucket filled with water. The good berries sink and the green ones or the rotten ones float, so you can get those out. After all the good berries have been scraped off, you weigh them and add apples. It's 2/3 berries and 1/3 apples. For every kilo of apples and elderberries you add half a kilo of jelly sugar. You let the berries cook in a pan for ten minutes and then you add the jelly sugar. Afterwards, also add the apples. Then you take the pan of the stove and place a tool (vitte passe) on a bowl which makes sure all the seeds go out. At the end you pour the content of the bowl in jars and you have jam!
At the end we placed some stickers on the jars and sold them for 5 euro per jar, and we sold all of them!
